John's first job was a soldier in the Army. After 3 and a half years, he reached the conclusion that mud wasn't for him and departed to embark on a career in IT.
In 2003 he joined SOS and shortly after the SOS Connect product was born. John was the first script writing consultant. After 6 years at SOS he was poached by a leading Devon law firm.
John spent 6 years working in practice designing Connect applications and improving the product across almost every aspect of the law.
In 2015, John left the practice and setup LawSol. His aim was to marry his knowledge of both legal process and SOS Connect development to provide services and applications for many law firms.
In his spare time John can normally be found completing one of the endless DIY jobs at home. He enjoys walking his two dogs with his wife, Chris, tempted by the promise of a pub stop. John is also a guide dog volunteer and is currently raising the puppy 'Gem' who will shortly graduate to the next phase of her training.
Guy is a Mathematics graduate from The University of Exeter. Possibly more dedicated to his extracurricular activities than his study, he did nonetheless graduate in 2004 with an honours degree.
Following university, Guy embarked on a Ski season as a chalet host. It was during this time that John recommended him for a job at SOS. Guy spent 18 and a half years with SOS and left as a senior technical engineer.
In 2022, Guy was offered a job as Head of Technical Services at LawSol. In addition to applications development, he provides a range of technical services across our client base.
In his spare time, Guy likes to do DIY, go snow boarding and is a keen semi professional croquet player. An amateur writer, he has also written two acclaimed episodes of 'In the Night Garden'.
Rob joined Lawsol in April 2025 after working for a law firm in West London for 14 years as a Senior Development Analyst. Prior to that Rob spent several years working at Solicitors Own Software, SOS as a consultant.
Rob has over 20 years of experience working in legal IT with an in-depth knowledge of law firm operations and solutions to improve efficiency.
As well as being proficient in coding in multiple legal case/practice management systems Rob is a Microsoft Certified specialist in the Microsoft Power Platform.
In recent years Rob has also specialised in AI, undertaking several large projects to improve efficiency with the use of artificial intelligence.
Rob also highly experienced in integrations, having integrated a wide range of legal software.
Outside of work Rob is a dad of two and the top Maternity safety campaigner in Wales after his son was left disabled due to medical negligence at birth.
In Memory of Jon Williams
Jon sadly passed away at our company summer event on 14th August 2025. He was a popular member of the team both internally and with clients. His profile remains on our site as a memory of his time here with us and a tribute to him.
Jon had a long and varied carreer, first working as a Geophysicist data processing for an oil company, before needing a change, and joining the Met Office (for 20+ years). His roles include Weather Radar Archivist, network system management, tech support for PC upgrades, Application support for forecast products, software engineer and technical lead too.
On leaving the Met Office Jon took a break - taking kids out of school to experience nature and the great outdoors, for a year or so - moving on to join a Devon-based solicitors as their in-house SOS Scripter for almost 8 years. His time at LawSol was spent adding his technical skills to meet an increased need for enhancements and improvements to SOS Connect.
Michael spent 23 years as Head/Director of IT at a leading London law firm before retiring in 2020.
Michael is an expert in producing reports within the SOS Connect environment. This ensures that your firms leaders can not only run their own cases, but also get management level reporting within the same application.
In his spare time Michael can normally be found on the golf course working to reduce his handicap.
